Microchurch

We work in partnership with Canvas Network and help to pioneer new kingdom initiatives with the aim of empowering people to be the missional Church in their community.

Canvas Network provides relational spaces for collaboration and learning where pioneering leaders are empowered to catalyse new initiatives.

A microchurch is a small group of people gathered around three ecclesial minimums: Worship, Community and Mission. They gather for the purpose of becoming disciples, making disciples and living missionally together within their community.

The early church we read about in Acts saw explosive growth (from ~25,000 believers in AD 100 to ~20 million by AD 310), without the resources and ability we have today to be connected with people on a global scale. Along with Canvas Network, we are exploring how that same level of growth can be achieved today through the empowerment of the scattered church.

As we release chaplains into the ordinary places that the gathered church often struggles to reach, we enter into a completely new mission field. This leads to new opportunities for us to be the ‘scattered church’, pioneering new missional communities and microchurches, in the middle of those places.

Our goal is that our chaplains become missionaries that:

  • Show the love of Jesus through the support they give to people who are broken and struggling with something in their lives.

  • Connect, encourage and equip, Christians in the workplace

  • Join in with workplace faith groups or start them where they don’t exist.

  • Flush out the ‘Secret Christians’ who keep their faith hidden in the workplace.

  • Launch missional communities where people become disciples who go on to make disciples.
